The UAE government has announced significant updates to the Golden Visa programme for 2026, broadening eligibility criteria and streamlining the application process. The changes aim to attract and retain top talent across multiple sectors.
The minimum property investment for Golden Visa eligibility has been reduced from AED 2 million to AED 1.5 million. This opens the door for a wider range of property investors, particularly in emerging communities like Dubai South and Jumeirah Village Circle.

Founders of startups registered in UAE free zones with a minimum annual revenue of AED 500,000 now qualify automatically. The requirement for external funding has been removed.
A new "Skills Visa" pathway allows professionals with exceptional skills in AI, biotechnology, renewable energy, and space science to apply without meeting financial thresholds.
The application process has been fully digitized through the ICP Smart Platform. Most applications are processed within 5 business days, down from the previous 30-day timeline.
